Honoring deceased veterans

Veterans and members of Bethesda celebrate Memorial Day.

Bethesda Presbyterian Church at 808 Red Lion Road celebrated its Memorial Day service on May 29 by honoring 24 deceased veterans, who were members, family and friends. The service began with the video, “Proud to Be An American.”
As the names of honorees were called, the congregation waved flags and cheered. Some showed pictures of their loved ones. The hymns for the day were “God Bless America,” “America the Beautiful” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

The Veterans’ Choir sang “Onward Christian Soldier.” The message for the day was “Under God,” delivered by Elder Debbie Thomas. ••
